Banjul The Gambia, June 25, 2025 - The Gambia National Olympic Committee is preparing to take part in the inaugural Africa School Games under the auspices of Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA).
The games is expected to take place in Algeria from 20th to 30th August 2025 and The GNOC intends to feature athletes in the following sports with the allocated slots:
In Athletics 5 Boys and 5 Girls will be selected, Swimming will featured 2 athletes (1 boy and 1 girl), in Judo 2 Boys and 2 Girls will represent the country, Basketball will fill a 3x3 team (4 Boys), Wrestling will register (1 Boy and 1 Girl) whiles Beach Volleyball will register (2 Boys and 2 Girls).
Twenty six athletes are expected to represent The Gambia at the event, that is believe to unveil many hidden talent.
