Bamako, Mali, February 28, 2025 - Mr. Bai Dodou Jallow, President of the Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC), has been elected as a member of the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) Zone 2 Executive Board at the recently concluded elective General Assembly held in Bamako, Mali.

During this assembly, key documents for the 2021-2024 period were adopted, including constitutional amendments, a program of activities, financial reports, and the budget and activity plan for the upcoming quadrennial.

Bai Dodou who was elected GNOC President last November will served in the board mandated to steer the affairs of the Olympic movement in Zone II for the coming four years.

This election was part of the zonal requirements leading up to the ANOCA General Assembly, scheduled for March 2025, in Algiers, Algeria, where new leadership and the executive board for the next quadrennial will be elected.

The newly elected ANOCA Zone 2 Executive Board members for the 2025–2028 term are:

1. President: Habib Sissoko – Mali

2. Vice President: Abderrahmane Ethmane – Mauritania

3. Vice President: Ben Daouda Nassoko – Guinea

4. Secretary General: Seydina Omar Diagne – Senegal

5. General Treasurer: Abdoulaye Coulibaly – Mali

6. Internal Auditor: Sergio Mane – Guinea-Bissau

7. Members:

                    • Filomena Fortes – IOC Member

                    • Bai Dodou Jallow – The Gambia

                    • Prince Vandy Sualley – Sierra Leone

Mr. Jallow's election is a significant achievement for The Gambia, reflecting the nation's growing influence in the African Olympic movement.
