AADC appoints Adama Jammeh as center captain
Dakar, Senegal, November 20, 2020 - The captain of Gambia national athletics team Adama Jammeh was on Friday confirm as the captain of the African Athletes Development Center in Dakar.
The Gambian Sprinter and Olympian will lead the athletics activities of the center that comprises of more than 6 different African countries.
Jammeh is part of the 5 Gambian athletes currently camped at the center under Olympic scholarship for training ahead of the reschedule 2020 Tokyo Games that will be held in July 2021.
I am honored to lead this great high performance center, Jammeh said.
He added, " my focus for now is how to improve on my timing to qualify for the games in 2021 and help my training partners to get our standard times".
In 2016 Jammeh represented Gambia at the Rio Olympics and the experienced sprinter is looking for his second Olympic appearance.
